Class Descriptions
Okido Yoga
A contemporary Japanese yoga incorporating aspects of Indian Yoga, Chinese Taoism and Zen and Shinto from Japan. Classes include a variety of exercises and natural movement with a flowing relationship to the traditional asanas. Practices include asana, meridian therapy, strengthening, mindfulness, sound and self-healing. All levels, including beginners welcome.
BUTOH, originating in Japan..
seeks a state of emptiness.. where 'the body is undergoing poetic ruptures'....
'molting and morphing always in a state of becoming'.... Igniting the imagination..
to 'be moved' by a vast array of internal and external sensorial image. The class is offered in a nurturing, non judgmental environment... where practices are optional and non pressured... where stillness, is as valued, as movement. Transformation with gravitas and elation... whilst 'moving with the body we have today’ captures the essence of BUTOH MOVES... where no experience is required... where all bodies are welcome! Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga involves resting deeply into a pose for up to 8 minutes. While surrendering to the stretch and letting gravity do the work, there comes a beautiful moment when you feel your body invite you deeper, so that you can access the deep connective tissues – tendons, ligaments and the fascia. The Yin Yoga method works by applying stress to these tissues so that joints remain strong and mobile.
Daytime Yoga
Learn a range of gentle stretching, toning and strengthening movements, breathing practices, deep relaxation, and guided meditation techniques. Zen Central is available for hire for Workshops, Classes and as a Natural Therapies treatment space. It's available for workshops on Sundays and from 10am on Saturdays. There are morning and afternoon times available on weekdays (from 8am onwards).
